REQUIREMENTS

LHCC is blessed to assist Dovetail with 16 hours of volunteer work each month to help prepare FoodPaks and other items for our Benevolence Ministry food distribution program.  This does not mean that once we reach our 16 hours that we have to stop going to Dovetail.  On the contrary, I would encourage anyone who wants to or enjoys going to Dovetail to do so even if we have reached our monthly quota.

LHCC will keep all volunteers informed as to the hours that we accumulate during the month.  Volunteers will be required to inform Bill Coons (714) 535-3767, (coonsbill@sbcglobal.net) the day after serving with the hours they logged.  All volunteers will be informed once we reach 16 hours.  Our goal is to get all our volunteers involved in working at Dovetail throughout the year.

DATES & TIMES

Dovetail usually operates on Tuesdays & Thursdays from 9 AM to 4 PM.  They provide us with a calendar showing the specific days they are open for each month.  A copy of this will be forwarded to all volunteers.

WORKING AT THE FACILITY

Volunteers can arrive at anytime between 9 AM & 1 PM.  When you arrive you need to sign the sign in sheet under La Habra Christian Church.  If it is your first time please see a supervisor to complete additional paper work.  Must be over 14 years of age.  There will be a free lunch provided for all volunteers served around 1:30 PM.  (GREAT LUNCHES) Bring your own snacks.

DRESS CODE

Men------Jeans/Pants/Long Shorts---NO open toed shoes or cut off shirts

Women------Jeans/Slacks/Long Shorts----NO open toed shoes or low cut blouses

Exit 126B toward Slauson Ave/Montebello
Turn Left onto Telegraph Rd
Turn Right onto S. Greenwood Ave
Turn Left onto Date St
Turn Right onto S. Maple Ave --- 1105 S. Maple Ave, Montebello, CA

DIRECTIONS (Surface Streets)

Take Whittier Blvd west towards Whittier
Turn slight left onto Washington Blvd
Turn Left onto S. Maple Avenue --- 1105 S. Maple Ave, Montebello, CA

They are located in the Royal Paper Box Company Turn in between the two buildings on your left and go all the way to the back. Turn right to the end and turn right again to the end.
