Mining the Prophets
2 Peter 1:19
When John was writing about the resistance to Christ he reminded his readers that the prophets warned that would happen (John 12:37-40). Peter instructed us to look for the interconnections between the prophets, Christ and the apostles (2 Peter 1:21). We must understand the Minor Prophets if we are to understand the Christ and His Church. We "mine" them because as Minor (read Shorter) Prophets they are more concentrated than the Major (read Longer) Prophets. As Peter says in our Series Text, "We have the word of the prophets made more certain, and you will do well to pay attention to it."
