At La Habra Christian Church, we believe that membership is more than just a title—it's a commitment to becoming a part of a loving, supportive community united by faith.  When we are saved, we become members of the body of Christ (1 Cor. 12:13). This unity with Christ and fellow believers naturally leads to our involvement in a local expression of that body. Church membership is a way of formalizing that commitment—it's a public declaration that you are dedicated to serving within this local community. We’re excited to invite you to take this meaningful step with us!

The Responsibilities of Membership

​Being a member of La Habra Christian Church is both a privilege and a responsibility. As members, we are called to:

• Exemplify a godly lifestyle
  Representing Christ in all that we do and say within our communities.
• Use our spiritual gifts to serve
  Contributing our talents and abilities for the good of the church and its mission.
• Support the church financially
  Giving joyfully and generously to ensure the church can continue its work.
• Participate in mutual edification
  Offering and receiving encouragement and correction in love, to help each other grow in faith.
• Engage in corporate worship
  Regularly attending services, connecting with others, and worshipping God together.
• Receiving instruction from God’s Word
  Learning and growing together through the teaching of scripture (1 Tim. 4:13; 2 Tim. 4:2).
• Serving and edifying one another
  Using our God-given spiritual gifts to build each other up (Rom. 12:3-8; 1 Cor. 12:4-31; 1 Pet. 4:10-11).
• Participating in the ordinances
  Engaging in baptism, communion, and other acts of worship that honor God (Luke 22:19; Acts 2:38-42).
• Proclaiming the gospel to those who are lost
  Fulfilling the Great Commission by sharing Christ’s love with the world (Matt. 28:18-20).
• Exemplify a godly lifestyle
  Representing Christ in all that we do and say within our communities.
• Use our spiritual gifts to serve
  Contributing our talents and abilities for the good of the church and its mission.

While much is expected, much is also gained. When every believer is faithful to this commitment, the church can live out her calling as Christ’s representative on earth. Membership matters because it helps us become the people—and the church—that God has called us to be.

Membership FAQ

Is membership required to attend services?

No, everyone is welcome to attend our services and participate in church activities. Membership is for those who wish to take a deeper step in their commitment to our community.

Do I need to be baptized to become a member?

Yes, we believe that baptism is an important step in publicly declaring your faith in Jesus Christ. If you haven’t been baptized yet, we’d love to guide you through this important milestone.

What if I’m not sure about becoming a member?

That’s okay! Feel free to take your time and attend our services. When you’re ready, we’ll be here to welcome you with open arms and walk you through the process of becoming a member.
