Sharing Jesus by Caring for People
Message from the Pastor
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
At our Zoom prayer meeting tonight, we were reminded by Lydia's prayer that God is still good. In the midst of another Covid surge, there are still so many good things we enjoy - people are driving around, electricity works, Costco has toilet paper, restaurants make or deliver food, the economy hasn't crashed,...and churches are still open for worship.
And I want our church to be a safe place so that people can worship without fear. I canceled church potluck last month to be on the safe side. We should still be in the safe mode. So there will be no donuts or snacks in the lobby, everyone will be expected to wear masks indoors, there will be temperature checks again for those who enter, and if you are feeling sick (even if it's just a small flu), please join us online (https://www.mylhcc.com/watch.html) instead of in-person. I noticed a couple of hand-sanitizing stations not working, so they will be fixed by this Sunday. Outdoor worship in our courtyard is also still available for everyone.
But we don't worry about what the world worries about. Let's be examples and be light in the darkness. Let's not live in fear but take care of those who need help. Let's work hard and pray hard and be diligent about keeping up our faith. When the wind and the waves push hard, we have to push harder to show the world that we are not afraid. Because God is still good. All the Time!
There will be no baptism or Worship at the Well or special events in the month of January. But our Benevolence ministry for those who need food and groceries will continue. Benevolence Food Distribution is on for 8am, Feb 5th. We want to make sure we help those in need. We will continue to be active with the community, inviting them onto our church campus, as we also outreach in service. You can continue to give your offerings online. https://mylhcc.churchcenter.com/giving
We have many prayer needs, and any of you can join us in prayer via Zoom on Wednesday nights 7pm:
