Weekly Message from the Pastor
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
We all have dreams. I’m not talking about the ones when you sleep; I’m talking about the ones when you’re awake - when you’re the most alive in your imagination and longings. That’s why you love those movies so much. They mimic the cravings of your heart - to be anyone you want, to do anything, to go anywhere!
But often times along the way, those dreams are lulled to sleep. “Be realistic” they say, “that could never happen anyway.” You’re told to pursue the tried and true. But you know that’s not what you were born to do. It’s easier to live a life of insignificance than to risk it all with a life of faith. But the easy life is a boring life. No wonder you’re asleep at the wheel. When Jesus promised a life to the full (Jn 10:10), it sure didn’t sound like living someone else’s dream; it’s yours.
A life of faith that puts everything in God’s hands is not only risky, it’s exciting! Don’t numb yourself to adventure. You were created for a divine destiny. Don’t sleep through your dreams.
Our vision is: Sharing Jesus by Caring for People, and we are dedicated to helping people in need. Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays can be difficult for those in need, so we will be collecting canned goods so we can give them out for our December Benevolence.(Dec 5th) So bring your canned goods to church on November 22nd, 6pm, for our Worship at the Well. Please also remember to give your offerings online to support the work of Christ through our church - https://mylhcc.churchcenter.com/giving
and don't forget to join us every Sunday at www.mylhcc.com/watch.html
This Saturday 8am is a special prayer for the city. Christians from across different churches in this city will pray on 4 different cross streets. I will be leading prayer on the corner of Whittier and Harbor. Please join me as we pray for our Nation, our State, our City, our neighborhoods, our churches, our neighbors, and our families.
We'll continue to worship together in the parking lot. We will worship inside when it rains. Worship will not be cancelled. But indoor worship at the chapel will be limited to 25% capacity as per government regulations. Overflow will be in the gym and classrooms. We will start an online registration form in a few weeks so you can reserve your spot.
If you missed our service last Sunday, you can watch at mylhcc.com/watch
