Youth Ministry (6th-12th grade)
TUESDAYS: 6-8pm Youth Room
We love our youth! Here at LHCC we make it a goal of ours to encourage the youth to discover Jesus’ love, grow together, ask questions, and spread his love to the ends of the earth.
On Tuesday nights we play games and spend time in community having fun with fellow Jesus lovers and we end the night with some worship. We start at 6pm and end around 8pm. If your child needs a ride to or from church, please email Michael Dodd [email protected] at least 48hrs in advance. If you wish to bring food/drinks for the youth or wish to volunteer email Michael, we’d love the help!
Children's Ministry
SUNDAYS: 9:30 A.M.
We welcome you and your children to La Habra Christian Children’s church! We serve ages 6 weeks through the 5th grades. Our hope is that Sunday morning here at LHCC has a rich and meaningful experience for every member of your family. Jesus says in Matthew 19:14 “Let the little children come to Me, and not forbid them, for of such is the Kingdom of heaven.” Our vision for the children here at LHCC is to provide a loving, secure and fun environment in which a child will be encouraged to develop into the young person that God wants them to be. The most important part of the child’s Christian walk is the foundation, because a building can only be as strong as the foundation on which it stands. We know that as parents your main concern is your child’s (spirit, soul, and body), so as parents, God has called you to play a most important part in the formation of your child’s spiritual growth. You are the ones to disciple your children as to who God is and how to have a relationship with Him. To help them understand that He alone is the one who changes hearts. Psalm 78 commands us to teach our children: 1 My people hear my teaching; listen to the words of my mouth. 2 I will open my mouth with a parable; I will utter hidden things, things from of old-- 3 things we have heard and known, things our ancestors have told us. 4 We will not hide them from their children; we will tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the LORD, his power, and the wonders he has done. 5 He decreed statutes for Jacob and established the law in Israel, which he commanded our ancestors to teach their children, 6 so the next generation would know them, even the children yet to be born, and they in turn would tell their children. 7 Then they would put their trust in God and would not forget his deeds but would keep his commands. |
Nursery (6 weeks-2 years)
Preschool (ages 3-5) Elementary (grades K-5th) It is our responsibility to supplement what you are teaching your child at home. We hold fast to the promise in Proverbs 22:6 which says, “Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it.” Speak the Word of God to them. Their spirits are well able to receive it. CONTACT Kurtz Ison

FOOD DISTRIBUTION PROGRAM
This Program is just one of several programs that are a part of the BENEVOLENCE MINISTRY. The Food Distribution Program was established on 02/19/2009, with our first distribution on 04/18/2009 by Pastor Sherman Pemberton. Since that time our monthly distribution have steadily increased in participation by families from La Habra, Fullerton, Rowland Heights, Whittier, Brea, Monterey Park, Walnut and La Puente. This year, 2023, we are serving a monthly average of 100 families (400 individuals). We are currently receiving around 2,600-3,000 pounds of food from the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank through a government program called “The Emergency Food Assistance Program” (TEFAP). Our current monthly costs to run the program is approximately $100. The goal of this Ministry is to assist those struggling families or individuals transition back to a self sustaining life. The Ministry also offers spiritual guidance, financial counseling and information on various other resources. We are deeply committed in reaching out to those in need in our community. If you are in need, please join us between 8am-11am on the 1st Saturday of the month. Having compassion on a needy brother is proof of the love of God within us. (1 John 3:17) We honor God when we are kind to the needy. (Proverbs 14:31) Having true compassion for the needy, as modeled by Jesus (Mark 8:2), means we are aware of the need, care about the people involved, and ready to act on their behalf. VOLUNTEERING If you would like to be part of this growing ministry, please contact the church or pastoral staff. Volunteer details:
Food distribution location: LHCC gym Dress Code: Jeans, Pants, Long Shorts, and closed toe shoes. No short/cutoff shirts, or low cut blouses. Manual labor is involved so being comfortable and modest is encouraged. |
