A PLACE FOR TEENS

Youth Ministry

We love our youth! Here at LHCC we make it a goal of ours to encourage the youth to discover Jesus’ love, grow together, ask questions, and spread his love to the ends of the earth.
Here’s what Sundays look like. We gather for musical worship with everyone outside, then we break off and go to our room where we learn about the same topic main service is teaching. That way the students can discuss the message with their families. We check-in, talk, ask questions, and dive into the word. Sunday bible study ends when main service does. We make sure to sit at different tables with at least 6ft of distance between households, as well as leave all doors open to help limit exposure.

On Tuesday nights we meet over Zoom in order to limit COVID-19 exposure. We still play virtual games and have fun though. Contact Laney Ribota at laneyribota@gmail.com for the Zoom link and password.

A SAFE AND FUN ENVIRONMENT

Children's Ministry

SUNDAYS: 9 AND 10:30 A.M.

We welcome you and your children to La Habra Christian Children’s church! We serve ages 6 weeks through the 5th grades.

Our hope is that Sunday morning here at LHCC has a rich and meaningful experience for every member of your family.

Jesus says in Matthew 19:14 “Let the little children come to Me, and not forbid them, for of such is the Kingdom of heaven.” Our vision for the children here at LHCC is to provide a loving, secure and fun environment in which a child will be encouraged to develop into the young person that God wants them to be. The most important part of the child’s Christian walk is the foundation, because a building can only be as strong as the foundation on which it stands.

We know that as parents your main concern is your child’s (spirit, soul, and body), so as parents, God has called you to play a most important part in the formation of your child’s spiritual growth. You are the ones to disciple your children as to who God is and how to have a relationship with Him. To help them understand that He alone is the one who changes hearts.

Psalm 78
commands us to teach our children:

1 My people hear my teaching;
listen to the words of my mouth.
2 I will open my mouth with a parable;
I will utter hidden things, things from of old--
3 things we have heard and known,
things our ancestors have told us.
4 We will not hide them from their children;
we will tell the next generation
the praiseworthy deeds of the LORD,
his power, and the wonders he has done.
5 He decreed statutes for Jacob
and established the law in Israel,
which he commanded our ancestors
to teach their children,
6 so the next generation would know them,
even the children yet to be born,
and they in turn would tell their children.
7 Then they would put their trust in God
and would not forget his deeds
but would keep his commands.

It is our responsibility to supplement what you are teaching your child at home. We hold fast to the promise in Proverbs 22:6 which says, “Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it.” Speak the Word of God to them. Their spirits are well able to receive it.

Women's Ministry

LHCC Women’s Ministry is dedicated to sharing Jesus by caring for women. The mission is to create a community that encourages, engages and equips women for serving the Lord with a full heart and soul. Our goals are to fellowship with other women, reach out to the community, and host quarterly events that bring women together in a fun and inspirational manner for God’s glory.
ASSIST THOSE STRUGGLING

Benevolence Ministry

“For there will never cease to be poor in the land. Therefore I command you, ‘You shall open wide your hand to your brother, the needy and to the poor, in your land.’  Deuteronomy 15:11

FOOD DISTRIBUTION PROGRAM

This Program is just one of several programs that are a part of the BENEVOLENCE MINISTRY.

The Food Distribution Program was established on 02/19/2009, with our first distribution on 04/18/2009 by Pastor Sherman Pemberton. Since that time our monthly distribution have steadily increased in participation by families from La Habra, Fullerton, Rowland Heights, Whittier, Brea, Monterey Park, Walnut and La Puente.

For the year ending 2018 we served a monthly average of 51 families (186 individuals).

We are currently receiving around 2,600-3,000 pounds of food from the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank through a government program called “The Emergency Food Assistance Program” (TEFAP), Our current monthly costs to run the program is approximately $100

The goal of this Ministry is to assist those struggling families or individuals transition back to a self sustaining life. The Ministry also offers spiritual guidance, financial counseling and information on various other resources. Our Church and Pastoral staff are deeply committed in reaching out to those in need in our community.
If you are in need, please join us between 8 and 11 Am on the 3rd Saturday of the month.

Having compassion on a needy brother is proof of the love of God within us. (1 John 3:17)
We honor God when we are kind to the needy. (Proverbs 14:31)

If you would like to be part of this growing Ministry please contact Bill Coons at (714-309-1468), email at coonsbill@sbcglobal.net or anyone on the Pastoral staff.
Having true compassion for the needy, as modeled by Jesus (Mark 8:2) means we are aware of the need, we care about the people involved, and we are ready to act on their behalf.
